Mancos Days is a long-running community festival held each summer in Mancos, Colorado. It began in 1958 at Boyle Park and has since grown into a full weekend celebration featuring a parade, children’s events, sports tournaments (softball, volleyball, cornhole), a classic car show, 5K run, beer garden, live music, a Pioneer Queen and Little Miss Mancos tradition, church breakfast, and the annual Ranch Rodeo on Sunday.
What It’s About
- Community spirit & fun – from kids’ races, watermelon‑eating contests, and backyard games to adult tournaments, water fights, and a festive beer garden.
- Celebrating local heritage – including honoring community pillars with roles like the Mancos Days Pioneer Queen and Little Miss Mancos, with an emphasis on longtime residents.
- Charitable focus – proceeds traditionally support local needs, such as youth sports or residents in crisis.
Who Organizes It
- Mancos Colorado Days Association – a volunteer-run group that takes the lead on planning and fundraising, raising funds for local youth sports and community assistance.
- Montezuma County VFW Auxiliary #5231 – selects the Pioneer Queen annually and hosts related queen events (tea, luncheon) and quilt raffles.
