Saturday, July 12, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum will be hosting Hopi artists, Marvene and Nuvadi Dawahoya for a special cultural demonstration. Marvene will share her process of weaving traditional sifter baskets from yucca—an honored and sacred plant in Hopi culture. Alongside her, Nuvadi, a celebrated carver from Shungopavi Village, will showcase his intricate kachina carvings made from cottonwood root.
