Christmas Cortez is a community-wide holiday celebration designed to bring people together through local tradition, creativity, generosity, and shared experience. Held in Montezuma County, the event transforms a local community space into an interactive holiday gathering filled with food, music, hands-on activities, local vendors, family traditions, and festive experiences for all ages.
At the heart of Christmas Cortez is intergenerational connection — creating opportunities for children, teens, adults, and older community members to participate side by side. Guests can make, taste, explore, give, learn, and celebrate together through interactive vendor experiences, creative activities, seasonal treats, and community traditions designed to encourage participation rather than passive attendance.
The event also celebrates the people and businesses that help keep Montezuma County strong. Local vendors, makers, service providers, and community partners are woven into the experience, creating meaningful connections between residents, visitors, and the businesses that support daily life in the region.
Christmas Cortez blends holiday tradition with immersive, participatory experiences that reflect the character of Southwest Colorado — practical, creative, welcoming, and community-driven.
Come for Christmas. Stay for the connection, creativity, local culture, and a celebration built to be experienced together.
